Theatre

A Cypriot city, Paphos takes immense pride in its culture and tradition. Throughout the year, the city stages several special performances of fun-filled musical concerts, plays and dramas. The idea that sums up the concept behind most of the theatrical plays and dramas, are Cypriot or Greek mythology legends. The Paphos Youth Theatre’s main aim is to bring out children’s individual talents and boost their confidence through performance related skills. Paphos Ancient Odeon

The 2nd century theatre is located in the north-eastern part of Paphos on the slopes of the Fabrica Hill. Built using well-hewn limestone blocks, the theatre even today is used to stage concerts, plays and dramas. The Ancient Greek Drama festival of Paphos, which goes on for a month is held at the Ancient Odeon.

Medieval Castle Square ( Wikipedia )

Many operas and festivals take place at the enchanting square of the Paphos Medieval Castle. Located just in front of the Paphos castle, the centre serves as the main venue for the Paphos Aphrodite Festival that is held every September. World famous artists stage their performances in the open air at the square, with the castle usually acting as a part of the scenery.
